Volkswagen Golf 3 – fuse and relay

The 3rd generation Volkswagen Golf compact car was produced in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 with gasoline and diesel engines. Engine compartment

On vehicles with diesel engines, the glow plug power supply circuit is protected by a high power fuse in the form of a fusible link.

Glow plug insert

On some models, when the radiator cooling fan is turned on, a fusible link can also be used.

  • Hi there.
    I think I have a loose relay under driver dash. Intermittently the engine won’t start but when I tap the area hard it will.
    Could you tell me how I work out which relay I need?
    TIA!
