Ford Transit 5 – fuse and relay

The 5th generation Ford Transit was produced in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. In this publication, we will show the locations of the Ford Transit 5 fuse and relay boxes, their diagrams and a designation of the elements. Note the fuse responsible for the cigarette lighter.

Ford Transit 1999

This model has 3 boxes with fuses and relays. The main one is in the cabin and 2 additional ones under the hood. Their performance and the number of elements may differ and depends on the equipment level of your Ford Transit 5. If you own a different generation or the presented diagrams do not fit – study the scriptures for the 4th or 6th generation, respectively.

Engine compartment

Power fuse box

This unit is located in the engine compartment to the right of the car’s movement, behind the main battery (more precisely, between it and the right wing). All the main equipment of the car is somehow connected through these fuses.

Photo of the unit under the hood

There are 6 such fuses in total, they are designated as FA, FB, FC, FD, FE, FF. The current diagram will be printed on the cover.

Regardless of the configuration, engine type, etc., on all 5th generation Ford Transit cars, at least two of the six fuses are mandatory in the block.

  • Hi,
I am having a problem with identifying Fuel Pump Relay. My 1998 DOHC 2 litre has an under bonnet small fuse box with 5 fused relays. This is situated on the Right Hand Side just above the steering column.

Any help would be appreciated in identifying wire colour codes. Or relay location.
    Regards
    Jack

  • Hi, my husband cannot find the reversing fuse. Can any help? We have looked at all of the sites shown above and still cannot find it. It is a campervan on a Ford Transit chassis 1998.
    Regards, Lynda
