Ford Mustang (2005-2009) – fuse and relay

Ford introduced a re-designed 2005 model year Mustang at the 2004 as the 5th generation Mustang. In this article you can find a description of fuses and relays Ford Mustang 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 release with box diagrams from which they are located and the location of the boxes themselves. Let’s highlight the fuse responsible for the cigarette lighter.

Passenger compartment fuse box

The fuse panel is located in the lower passenger side area behind the kick panel.

Engine compartment

Main fuse box

The power distribution box is located in the engine compartment at the right side. The power distribution box contains high-current fuses that protect your vehicle’s main electrical systems from overloads.

Cigar lighter (power outlet) fuses are the fuses #61 (Power point #1 (Instrument panel)) and #64 (Power point #2 (Console)).

Additional boxes

Auxiliary relay (if equipped)

There is a relay located on the accelerator pedal assembly for the PCM delay.
Note: Only on manual transmission applications.

Auxiliary relay with heated seats (if equipped)

On heated seat equipped vehicles, there is a relay box located behind the headlamp switch area containing two micro relays for the driver and passenger heated seats.

Auxiliary relay with HID headlamps (if equipped)

On vehicles equipped with HID headlamps, an auxiliary relay box is located under the hood on the right-hand side front of the engine compartment. This auxiliary relay box contains the left front and right front HID headlamp relays.
